Experience
I come from a family of teachers, so I find it very easy and rewarding to work with students. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Albright College. I spent a year living and studying in Madrid, Spain during my junior year. I then went on to receive my master's degree from Rutgers University. I am currently teaching college students, as I have been for the past four years. Before that, I spent twelve years teaching high school Spanish. On top of being able to tutor all levels of Spanish, I teach English as a second language to native Spanish speakers. As a tutor, I try to make learning a new language fun and exciting. I like to relate the new language to everyday situations in order to teach grammar and vocabulary. I like to give plenty of repetition so that students can fully understand the language. I am able to explain difficult concepts in a concise and efficient manner. I believe it is important to build a rapport with students so that I can better understand their strengths and weaknesses. This also helps students to feel comfortable asking questions so that they can fulfil their language learning goals. In my spare time, I enjoy shopping, watching movies, and traveling.
